Gertrude Anderson, 83, died Monday morning services Thursday

NEVADA -- Mrs. Gertrude (Elmer) Anderson, 83, of 818 D Ave. in Nevada, died this morning at the Story County Hospital where she had been a patient for the past two weeks. She had been in failing health for two years.

Services will be held from the Ryan Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. with Elder Paul Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery. Friends may all at Ryans after noon on Tuesday.

Born June 13, 1892 in Berlin, Germany to Gustaf and Augusta Wiesel, she had been a resident of Nevada for the past 65 years. She married Elmer Anderson in 1916 at Muscatine and was a member of the Nevada Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Elmer; one daughter, Mrs. Elaine (Gustav) Rieckhoff of Quincy, Ill.; three grandchildren; three nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
