Nancy Weuve, age 62, of Nevada, Iowa, died Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday March 27, 2014, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, with Pastor David Burling officiating. Visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.

Nancy Ann Weuve was born June 18, 1951, in Hartley, Iowa, the daughter of Roland and Jean (Popp) Smith. Nancy made her home in Nevada as a child and graduated from Nevada High School in 1969.

On February 19, 1972, she married Dennis Keith Weuve at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Brandi.

Nancy was employed at State Bank & Trust in Nevada for several years, then worked at the Story County Recorder's Office until retiring in October of 2013. She was a loyal and dedicated employee who was never sat still. She enjoyed the company of family and friends, was an avid Hawkeye fan, and always put others before herself.

Survivors include her husband, Denny; a daughter, Brandi Dutton of Nevada; a granddaughter, Paige Dutton of Nevada; her mother, Jean Smith of Nevada; two brothers, Steven (Sherri) Smith of Nevada, and Darrel Smith of Duncombe; a sister, Denise (Don) Sadler of Hartley; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, James Smith.

Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Nancy and her family.
