Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.
M. June Anderson was born June 9, 1920, the daughter of Harry and Dorothea (Adams) Ruddick in New Providence, Iowa. June married Leonard A. Anderson on Saturday, November 21, 1942, at the home of her parents, Harry and Dorothy. To this union, Leonard and June, were born two daughters, Janice and Dorothy. June enjoyed and loved her family and the time she got to spend with all of them.
During her working years, June was a waitress at the local restaurant in Jewell (Wally's) and then went with her boss and small crew to start the I-35 Truck Stop. June later worked at Hach Chemical in Ames.
June passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames at 93 years of age.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Janice (Henry) Rumbaugh, of Huxley and Dorothy (Rod) Dutton of Marshalltown; five grandchildren, Chad (Melanie) Rumbaugh, Jeffrey Rumbaugh, Cressant (Tim) Borton, Brandon (Tina) Dutton and Kyley (Bryan) Leger; five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cole, Cody, Maximus and Quinten; three nephews; and two nieces.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard; and two brothers, Lyle and Maurice.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in her name.
