Paul G. Stratton, 82, of Maxwell, Iowa, passed away Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Madrid Home in Madrid, Iowa.

Paul was born February 22, 1930, in Nevada, Iowa to Eldon and Lucille (Webb) Stratton. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1948, and married Alyce Riekena on October 12, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa. Paul worked for the D.O.T. as a Program Planner, retiring in 1992. Paul was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church for over 50 years, Maxwell Lions, the Elks, Maxwell Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years and the Isaac Walton League. Paul loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed leather working and going to Hackensack, Minnesota to fish.

Paul is survived by his son, Alan (Barb) Stratton of Maxwell, Iowa; two grandchildren: Audrey (Craig) Beal of Nevada, Iowa, Carl (Amanda) Stratton of Withee, Wisconsin; a great-granddaughter: Cora Ann Stratton; and two sisters: Mary Lou Dahms of Traer, Iowa and Jane Runyan of Grinnell, Iowa.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his daughter, Teresa; and one sister, Lois Seebach.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with graveside services to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center, Iowa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Woodland Cemetery Association.
