Josephine Lenora Hoel
Sept. 19, 1899-Sept 14, 1995Josephine Lenora Hoel, 95, of Nevada died Thursday of heart failure at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Nevada with the Rev. James W. King officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
Josephine Taylor was born Sept. 19, 1899 in Nevada to George M. and Addie L. (Frye) Taylor. She married William C. Hoel on Sept. 2, 1919, in Nevada. He preceded her in death in 1971.
A homemaker, Mrs. Hoel lived in Nevada most of her life.
She was member of First United Methodist Church in Nevada and past president of V.F.W. Auxiliary Unit No. 2209.
Mrs. Hoel is survived by four daughters, Wilma L. Geiser of Nevada, Valora "Jean" Tomlinson of Des Moines, Donna D. Sandmeier of McCallsburg and Patricia J. Olson of Webster City; one son, Rex L. Hoel of Nevada, one brother, Ray Taylor of Nevada; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, 10 brothers and sisters and one grandson.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with the family present from 3 to 5 p.m., at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Hoel's name to First United Methodist Church in Nevada or the American Heart Association.
