May 13, 1914 to Aug. 14, 1991

Leah P. Johnson, 77, of Nevada died from complications of a stroke at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born to Antone and Mabel (Egenes) Rasmussen at McCallsburg. She married Carl Johnson on June 1, 1935, in Marshalltown. She was a lifetime resident of Story County and worked as a homemaker health aid. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, and of the Story County Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Carl, of Nevada; two sisters, Ruth Salzman of Mesa, Ariz., and Rita Lemme of Forest City; two brothers, Arthur Rasmussen of Nevada and John Rasmussen of Houston, Texas; and 12 nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held last Friday at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada. Funeral services were held Saturday at Memorial Lutheran Church. Burial followed at Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church.
