Funeral services for Robert F. Sloan, 1225 Fifth street, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. H. G. Kohl officiating.

Many beautiful flowers which surrounded the casket indicated the high regard in which the deceased was held in the community.

Two songs "In the Garden" and "Asleep in Jesus" were sung by Mrs. Harry Sutherland accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Norman Dobson.

The casket bearers were Frank Adams, A. T. Anfinson, Howard Mills, Wm. Stevenson, Clyde Steward and Frank Vail.

Burial was in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Obiturary

Robert F. Sloan was born June 20th, 1873 at Mills Springs, Ky. and passed from this life June 21st, 1953 at Nevada, Iowa.

He was joined in holy wedlock to Laura Lee Conley on the 13th of Jan. 1897. From this union there survives his wife, Laura; two sons, Theordore L. Sloan of Cleveland, Ohio, John M. Sloan also of Cleveland; two daughters, Zella, Mrs. Ralph Cessna of Nevada and Emarine, Mrs. Lorence Roskopf of Melbourne; one brother, John L. Sloan of Vernon Center, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Morris, Girard, Kans. and Mrs. Elizabeth Kindrick, Monticello, Ky.; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two daughters-in-law.
