Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Jeffrey LaVerne Osmundson was born September 30, 1968 to Larry and Letha (Geisler) Osmundson in Nevada, Iowa. He married Connie Stevens on May 6, 1995 in Story City.

Jeff attended elementary school in Gilbert and graduated from Roland-Story High School in 1987. After graduation, Jeff worked various jobs which included Greenfield's Hog Confinement, Putco, Ames Trenching, City of Story City, Jensen Excavation and Jensen Builders until his health began to decline. He had been a member of the Story City Volunteer Fire Department. Jeff enjoyed attending his sons sporting events, camping, boating, fishing, his morning visits at the Story City Water Plant and time spent with his faithful companion, “Puggles”.

Jeff passed away February 5, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, of a spontaneous brain stem bleed, at 45 years of age.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Osmundson of Story City; three sons, Colton Osmundson of Story City, T.J. (Cassie) Stevens of Wichita Falls, Texas and Tanner Stevens of Story City; his parents, Larry (Cindy) Osmundson of Story City and Letha (Dick) DeMoss of Gilbert; his brother, Dave Osmundson of Ellsworth; three sisters, Terri (Matt) Bogenrief of Ames, Heather (Tim) Barber of Story City and Heidi (Paul) Vanden Hull of Ankeny; two grandchildren, Sophia Stevens and Chase Stevens; his grandmothers, Lucy Geisler, Irene Chelsvig and Florence Furman; his grandfather, Bill Geisler; his mother in-law, Carol Vekre (Furman); many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Orene (Fincham) Osmundson and LaVerne Osmundson.

Jeff touched many lives in different ways including as an organ donor and being a second dad to many of Colton’s friends. He will be missed and loved by all.
