Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Frances A. “Frankie” Romsey was born on August 9, 1919 to Walter and Mable (Olson) Berhow in Kensett, Iowa. She married Joseph C. Romsey on January 12, 1947. He died November 3, 2003. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Frankie enjoyed sewing, baking, music, gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Frankie passed away February 1, 2014 at Bethany Manor in Story City at 94 years of age.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue (Gary) Uthe and Kris Crawford, both of Story City; her daughter-in-law, Sharon Romsey, of Gilbert; ten grandchildren, Eric (Amy) Romsey, of Downers Grove, Illinois, Beau (Christine) Romsey, of Ames, Sarah (Travis) Smith, of Ames, Andy Bohnker, of New York City, New York, Seth Bohnker, of New York City, New York, Amanda Crawford, of Story City, Mathew Crawford, of Story City, Michelle (Brant) Pfantz, of Ankeny, Jordan Uthe, of Boone and Justin Uthe, of Ames; eleven great-grandchildren, Joey, Jack, Jude and Jonnah Romsey, Joshua, Caleb and Levi Smith, Carter Crawford, Noah and Zadie Pfantz and Annabelle Uthe; her brother, Richard (Louise) Berhow, of Vancouver, Washington; three sisters-in-law, Lavina Berhow, of Kansas City, Pat Berhow, of Mayfield, Kentucky and Millie Olson, of Story City; and her brother-in-law, LaVerne (Colleen) Romsey, of Clarion, Iowa.

Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Romsey; her son, Steve Romsey; five brothers, Wes Berhow, Lowell Berhow, Jack Berhow, Marvin Berhow and Jim Berhow; and four sisters, Ruby Fatland, Grace Linder, Marjorie Hill and Betty Eller.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Bethany Life Communities.
