Rites set for Orville Casebolt
NEVADA -- Orville Casebolt, 45, critically injured in a Kirksville, Mo., auto accident May 28, died about 4:40 a.m. Friday in a Kirksville hospital.
A native of Ames, he ws born April 14, 1920, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Casebolt. He attended Ames High School and the Boone Junior College, Boone.
Mr. Casebolt served with an armored infantry division overseas during World War II for three years.
He married Bernice Hug, St. Louis, Nov. 10, 1946.
Mr. Casebolt was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for about seven years and only recently had joined the Right-of-Way Department of the Iowa State Highway Commission.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Central Presbyterian Church, Nevada.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, who was also injured in the crash; three sons, Jerry Lee, John Alvin, and David Kent, all at home; three brothers, Lloyd, Long Beach, Calif.; Ivan, Albert Lea, Minn., and Clare, 615 Carroll Ave.; three sisters, Mrs. A. B. Seversike, Elkhart; Mrs. C. H. Wittick, 1117 Carroll Ave., and Mrs. Freda Inman, 515 Duff Ave.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Frank E. Hladky, pastor of the Central Presbyterian Church, Nevada, officiating.
