Ruth Neff
March 16, 1915 to Nov. 4, 1999

Ruth A. Neff, 84, of State Center, formerly of Nevada, died of pneumonia on Thursday, Nov. 4, at the State Center Manor in State Center where she had been a resident since January of 1998.

She was born March 16, 1915, in Nevada to Ernest and Rose (Maier) Danskin. She married Morris Johnson on April 9, 1939, and he died Spt. 24, 1960. Shen then married Robert Neff on July 13, 1970. She as an assistant cook at the Story County Hospital for 35 years. She as a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, Daughter of the American Revolution and a Hospital Auxiliary volunteer. She enjoyed collecting Norman Rockwell plates, gardening, planting flowers and loved animals. She was a lifelong resident of Nevada.

Survivors include two step-daughters, Karla Echevarria of San Diego, Calif., and Patricia Jamison of McHenry, Ill; three step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Morris; and her second husband, Robert on Oct. 9, 1982.

Graveside services were held Monday, Nov. 8 at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Steve Williams officiating. A memorial fund has been set up in her name for the Nevada Public Library. Chet Ryan Mortuary handled arrangements.
