HILDA HARSHBARGER
Hilda Harshbarger, 81, of Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, April 21, 1984 at the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 5 at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant with Rev. George White and Rev. Reg Merrill officiating. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Nevada Cemetery.
Hilda Schumacher was born on June 23, 1902 in Dayton Township, Bremer County. She married John W. Ladwig in 1916; John Ladwig died in December 1924. She then married Russell E. Harshbarger on May 5, 1931, in Dubuque. Russell Harshbarger died in August 1949.
Mrs. Harshbarger was a retired homemaker, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, the United Methodist Women, Golden Rule Sunday School, Founders Chapter of Tri-T, Clio Study Class, Sansouci, Westside Mothers Club, Bethateum Chapter 45-White Shrine and the Henry County Health Center Auxiliary.
Mrs. Harshbarger is survived by two daughters, Irma Swan of Mount Pleasant and Mrs. Velma (Roy) Kralik of Creston; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Ivan (Frances) Readout, of Marshalltown; 12 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Friends may call Tuesday at the Weir Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant.
