Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Jim was born June 21, 1935 at the Sunset Home in Story City to Russell J. and Mary Elizabeth (Brinton) Voga. He married Berniece Marie Anderson on October 11, 1958 at Salem Lutheran Church in Roland. Jim farmed for many years and also drove a semi-truck. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ellsworth and was a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Jim enjoyed wood working, collecting antiques and restoring old vehicles. Jim was baptized on the day that he was born and attended Lincoln Country School #6 at Radcliffe from 1941 to 1946, then Ellsworth Public School before graduating from Randall High School in 1954.

James Voga, 78, of Story City died January 5, 2014 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

Jim is survived by his wife Berniece of Story City; a son, Kevin (Patty) Voga of Lucas, Texas; two daughters, Karen (Bradley) Waline of Story City and Kristine (Michael) Wilson of Ames; six grandchildren, Julian and Justin Voga, Kirsten and Grant Waline and Nate and Mattea Wilson; a sister, Judi (David) Charlson of Ames and a brother-in-law William “Bill” Blaine of Mesa, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Blaine.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials to be made in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Riverside Bible Camp or Israel Family Hospice House.
