Funeral services for Arthur E. Reedholm, long time Nevada businessman, were held from the Nevada Methodist church Monday afternoon, Oct. 4 at 2 o'clock with the Rev. David Ash Officiating.
Fred McLain sang two songs, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "Face to Face," accompanied at the oran by Mrs. Norman D. Dobson.
There were an unusually large number of flowers which filled the font of the church, expressive of the esteem in which the deceased was held in the community and elsewhere. The flowers were arranged by Mrs. L. R. Bassett, Mr.s E. H. Hornbacher, Mrs. C. L. Gifford and Mrs. C. A. Ryan.
The casket bearers were M. J. Cockshoot, Glover Ambrose, C. J. Gifford, W. P. Grossman, Everett McGrath and Harry Sorensen.
Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
Here 32 Years
A resident of Nevada for past 32 years, during which he owned and operated the Reedholm Hardware, Mrs. Reedholm had always been an active supporter of everything for the good of the community. He was a 25 year member of the Iowa Retail Hardware Association, a member of the Nevada Community club, the Nevada Rotary club and of the Nevada Methodist church being a member of the Methodist church board and of its finance committee.
His sudden death of a heart attack Saturday morning Oct. 2 came as a distinct shock to relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Reedholm had spent the past summer in Sweden returning home but a few weeks ago. They had also visited Sweden on their honeymoon trip in 1913.
Born in Lanyon, iowa, May 30, 1885, a son of A. F. and Augusta Reedholm, he was married May 29, 1913 in Lanyon to Eleanor Sten*, and to this union four children were born, all of whom with the mother, survive.
The children are: Dr. Edwin A. Reedholm of Grundy Center, Glenn Reedholm of Nevada, Agnes, Mrs. John Piet of St. Louis, Mo., and Vivian, Mrs. Donald Nelson of Nevada. he is also survived by five brothers, Joe Reedholm of Boone, Reuben of Harcourt, Victor of Gowrie and Ivan of Humboldt and two sisters, Mrs. Hulda Mosburg of Lanyon and Mrs. Sarah Forsland of Kalamazoo, Mich. He also leaves six grandchildren.
