Nevada man found dead

NEVADA -- Arthur Carsrud, 65, was found dead Thursday night inside the house at the Raymond Lock farm, north of Nevada, by Deputy Sheriff John Stark. he had been notified by neighbors when they failed to see Carsrud for more than a day.

Dr. Elroy R. Peterson, deputy medical examiner, said Carsrud had died of natural causes and that time of death was between 48 and 50 hours prior to the time his body was found. His death was believed due to a heart attack.

Mr. Carsrud had been hired by the Locks to take care of their livestock while they were on a trip to California.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ryan Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, Martin and Ernest Carsrud, Nevada, and two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Hoitsma, nevada, and Mrs. Roy Sykes, Brookings, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.N. Carsrud* of Brookings, S.D.
