MAXINE ELIZABETH BROOKS

Maxine Elizabeth Brooks, 69, of 811 K Ave., Nevada IA, died Saturday, Oct. 15, 1988 at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Death was due to heart failure. She had been ill two years.

She was born March 26, 1919, at Colo IA to Ralph and Pearl (Warren) Cooper. She lived here all her life.

She was married to Virgil Pershing Brooks July 13, 1941, at the Presbyterian Church in Nevada.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil P., four sons, Douglas and Stephe of Des Moines IA, Charles of Pleasanton CA and Brad of Nevada; three daughters, Delores Heintz of Omaha NE, Jeanette Fetters and Carlet Brooks of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Robert Cooper of Nevada, and two sisters, Marjorie Prescott and Joan Lenning, both of Nevada.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one granddaughter, Danielle Brooks Fetters.

Mrs. Brooks was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church.

Funeral services will be at the Nevada Presbyterian Church Tuesday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brad Braley officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery at Nevada.

Friends were invited to call at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada, after noon on Monday, Oct. 17.
