Ruth Louise Larsen

Story City -- Ruth Louise Larsen, 86, of Story City, died early Saturday, July 24, 2004 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Ruth was born in Boone to Glenn and Clara Nordman Hauser. She graduated from Drake University and was a teacher at Milford Township School near Nevada. She married Myron Larsen of Nevada in Independence, Missouri on March 8, 1941 and was the mother of six daughters. The family lived for many years on their farm near Webb, in northwest Iowa. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother and a devoted member of the Lutheran church.

Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Larsen of Dallas, Texas, Becky Yost of Olympia, Washington, Jana Melter and husband, Greg, of Boulder Creek, California, Kristin Kemp, and husband, Craig, of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Terrie Larsen, and husband, David Ferree of Ames, Iowa; one sister, Helen Powers of Carroll, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Jeff Graves, Wendy Brown, Benjamin DuBois, Brandon DuBois, Briton DuBois, Kelcey Patrick-Ferree, Emilyn Larsen-Ferree and Sam Larsen-Ferree; nieces and nephews and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Graydon Hauser, sister Lois Wulze, her husband, Myron and daughter, Julie Ann.

Funeral services were Tuesday at Bethany Manor in Story City with Pastor Sandy Anenson officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
