Elbert Johnson services are set

Elbert G. Johnson, 80, 419 Main St., died Monday about 11 a.m. at Mary Greeley Hospital.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home with the Rev. L. M. Garrett of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Cambridge Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born Jan. 6, 1893 at Cambridge and lived there until 1949 when he came to Ames. In Cambridge, he was employed by the meat locker as a meat cutter and in Ames he worked ass meat cutter for the Ames Fruit and Grocery for many years.

Survivors include a brother, Roy H. Johnson, Newton; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Howard, George and Joseph Johnson and by two sisters, Althea Urban and Mrs. Izoama Richardson.

The body will like in state at the Adams Funeral Home Wednesday evening until the time of service.
