Mary Margaret Lough
April 4, 1922 to February 14, 2002

Mary "Minnie" Lough, 79, of Santee, Calif., and formerly of Nevada, died of cancer on Thursday, Feb. 14.

She was born April 4, 1922, in Maryville, Mo. to Orville and Greta (Kemp) Vert. She married H. Fred Lough in Missouri on March 16, 1941. They lived their entire life in Nevada, Cambridge and Maxwell. They owned and operated a grocery store in Cambridge, and Minnie was also employed at and retired from Donnelley Marketing. She was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary, she volunteered for the preparation and mailing of taxes for Story County. She was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. She enjoyed giving of herself, walking and playing cards. She moved to California in April of 2000.

Survivors include a daughter, Kelly Lough (and John) Krause of Santee, Calif.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred on April 9, 1976; two sisters, Marjorie (and Richard) Wood and their children, Tamara and Denise on July 27, 1966; and Betty Babbitt.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Burial of the cremains will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
