Former resident died at Nevada

Mrs. Helen Starbuck, 79, of Nevada, died in her sleep Friday* morning of an apparent heart attack.

Born in Nevada*, she was a life-long resident of that community. The family lived near Roland several years.

Survivors include two sons, Donald W., of Rudd, and Darrell D., of Nevada; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Stenson of Waterloo, and Mrs. Betty Daley of Ames; a sister, Mrs. Carey Elwood, Oak Park Manor; 15 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held Monday from United Methodist Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Azel Smith officiating. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to the Story County will index, Helen Ivadel (Dayton) Starbuck died on 9 August 1968, a Friday. Helen Dayton was actually born in New Albany Twp., Story County, Iowa on 21 March 1889, not Nevada as stated.
