DAVID SMITH

David Adams Smith, 73, of Nevada, died Wednesday, April 14, 1982 at Story County Hospital.

He was born Decmeber 2,1908 in Riceville, Iowa, the son of Glendon J. and Edith Ellen Adams Smith. In 1926 he graduated from Riceville High School and he attended the University of Minnesota.

On August 18, 1934, he married Irene Larson at Story City.

Mr. Smith was employed for over 30 years by General Telephone Co., retiring in 1972 as district manager, He worked in Nevada, Columbia and Cameron, Mo., before retiring and returning to Nevada. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church; and was a Mason, a former Rainbow Dad for the Rainbow Girls, a lifetime member of the Pioneer Telephone Association, and a member of the Magician's Union.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; a daughter, Patricia Trogdon III of Gunnison, Colo. and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald W. Smith, who died a week ago at Anchorage, Alaska.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with Pastor Walter Lack officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home. Nevada. The family will meet friends Friday evening at the funeral home.
