Ralph R. McKinney, son of John and Tave McKinney, was born on January 13, 1889 in Phillips county, Mo., and passed away at the Story County hospital in Nevada, Iowa, at 3 a.m., Saturday, July 12, 1952, being 63 years, five months and 20 days old. Mr. McKinney had been in poor health for several years, and had been in rather a serious condition for the past 11 months.

Mr. McKinney ws married to Anna Hrabcek at Rocky Ford, Colo., on November 1, 1913. To this union two children were born; a son, Glen and a daughter, Helen.

He had been a long time resident of Story county, having lived here for about 38 years. He had been a good farmer, and a splendid neighbor and ahs also had very fine neighbors who came in recently with several tractors and equipment and took care of his corn crop in laying it by for the season. Neighbors did the plowing before and Glen the planting.

Brother Ralph made his confession of Christ while a young man at the age of 16 at Hutchinson, Kansas, when he united with the Christian church. He placed his church membership in the Nevada Christian church on September 24, 1927. Brother McKinney had attended, as he was able, the church services, and has always enjoyed the fellowship of worship. This spring, early, he attended morning worship services when it was really quite difficult for him to come.

Besides his devoted wife, Anna, he leaves his son Glen of Owatonna, Minn., and daughter, Helen, Mrs. James Inglis of Ames, three grandchildren; Jacqueline and Michael Inglis and Judy Rae MdKinney. Also his aged father, John F. McKinney of Adair, Oklahoma, four brothers: Andrew of Nevada, Roy of Antlers, Okla., Lloyd and George of Adair, Okla., and two sisters: Mrs. C. R. Boswell of Pryor, Okla., and Mrs. Ive Sulliban of Mobile, Ala.
