KERMIT CHARLES SORENSEN

Kermit Charles Sorensen, 65, of rural Nevada IA, died Sunday, June 28, 1987, at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

He was born June 23, 1922, at Nevada to Harry Sorensen and Hannah Hansen.

He was married to Geraldine (Gerie) Huebner Sept 28, 1946, at Fremont NE.

He had been a farmer, retiring in 1982.

Mr. Sorensen was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church at Nevada. He belonged to Masonic Lodge No. 99 AF & AM, and to the Veteran of Foreign Wars. He served in the Navy in World War II.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, at Memorial Lutheran Church, Nevada, with Pastor Don Rothweiler officiating. Interment will be in Nevada Cemetery, Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Gerie; a son, Kent, of Nevada; a daughter, Linda Sorensen of Sedona AZ; a brother, Richard, of Nevada, and a sister, Lois Sandvold of Nevada.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
