Jeanne Yvonne “Bing” Kline, 89, of Nevada, Iowa, died Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.
Bing was born December 20, 1923 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the daughter of Walter E. and Effie Jane (Campbell) Crosby. She graduated in 1941 from Lincoln Consolidated High School in Zearing, Iowa. Bing had worked 30 years at the R.H. Donnelley Marketing from 1955 through December of 1985. Bing was a member of Nevada First United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful cook who loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bing also enjoyed music, playing the organ, jig-saw and crossword puzzles.
Bing was married to L. J. Kline on March 5, 1944 in the Evangelical United Brethren parsonage in Nevada, Iowa. They later divorced in 1980, but remained very close throughout the years.
Bing is survived by one son: Randy Kline of Colo, Iowa; two daughters: Connie Hoiberg of Trabuco Canyon, California, Dianne “Buffy” Scoggins of Villa Rica, Georgia; two grandchildren: Justin Kline, Keli Theilen; and three great-grandchildren: Drew, Karsten and Taryn.
She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers: Lowell Crosby, Elmo Crosby; and one sister: Avalea Martin.
Private graveside services will be held at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa in loving memory of Bing Kline.
The Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling the arrangements.
