From Story City Herald September 8, 1955

Edward Magnus Britson, son of Tobias and Mary Pierson was born at the home of his parents near Nevada, January 25, 1883.

He passed away at the sunset Home in Story City at the age of 72 years, 8 months and 5 days, on August 30, 1955.

He was baptized July 22, 1883, by the Rev. C. B. Jacobson. He was confirmed by the Rev. G. E. Smedal.

He spent most of his entire life in the Roland community and was a member of the Bergen Lutheran church and also attended the Roland school.

He is survived by one sister and two brothers, Bernice (Mrs. Clyde Elliot) of McCallsburg; Milford and Severt Britson, both of Roland. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Thomas.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Sept. 3, in the Sunset Home in Story City with the Rev. Ivar Havneros in charge. Mrs. Bertha Pederson and Mrs. Bert Stensland sang "We are Going Down the Valley" and "Jesus Savior Pilot Me." At the Bergen church, with the Rev. Allen E. Nelson in charge, Orris Osheim sang "Abide With Me" and "In Heaven Above." Pallbearers were Otis Anderson, Clarnece Helvig, Jesse Quam, Floyd Johnson, Julius Thompson and Casper Thompson. Interment was made in the Nevada cemetery.
