From the McCallsburg Record, Thursday, August 5, 1915.

IN MEMORIAM

The funeral service over the remains of Mrs. Sarah E. Cory was held at the Presbyterian church Sunday afternoon. She was born in Momence, Ill., Oct. 18, 1856, and when 18 years of age came to Iowa with her parents, and the following year, 1876, was united in marriage to Luther Cory, who died Jan. 6, 1907. Of the union, seven children were born, all of whom survive her. A sister, Mrs. H. C. Springer of this place also survives her. About a year ago she returned from visit to the children located in Montana and North and South Dakota, and soon after was over-taken by the severe illness which resulted in her death on Wednesday, July 28th. Her son Robert, daughters Sadie and Mrs. Grace Scott were with her when the end came. During her last illness she was lovingly cared for her by her youngest daughter, Sadie, the only one of the children remaining at home. She was a loving wife and devoted mother and esteemed by all who knew her. At the age of thirteen she was converted and lived a Christian life since.

In spite of the severe rain there was a good sized audience present to pay their tribute to her memory, and extend their sympathy.
