FREIDA CAGWIN

Freida K. Cagwin, 86, of Nevada, died January 8, 1982 at Story County Hospital.

She was born Feb. 23, 1893 in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Chales and Christine Newbloom, and was educated in the Marshalltown schools. In August of 1913, she married Ray D. Cagwin. The couple moved to Nevada in 1921 and purchased the Owl Cafe, which they operated to 30-some years. Later they purchased a grocery store in Mason City and Frieda worked as a cook in the hospital. She returned to Nevada in 1967.

She was member of the Rebeccas.

Mrs. Cagwin is survived by a son, Gene, of Nevada, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1967, an infant daughter, a brother and a sister.

Funeral services will be hld at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11 at the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with Rev. Gerhard Riesen officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
