Mrs. A. H. Fay Died at Home Here Early Today

Mrs. A. H. Fay, 81, died at her home at 1007 Tenth street, Nevada at 5 a. m. today after an illness which has covered a period of nearly a year.

Funeral services for this estimable woman who has been a a resident of Nevada for over half a century, will be held from Central Presbyterian church Friday a 2 o'clock, with her pastor, Rev. Jos. M. Kennedy in charge. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Mrs. Fay is survived by her husband, Arthur H. Fay; her son, Wylie W. Fay of near Nevada, and daughter, Leora, Mrs. H. H. Stipp of Des Moines; grandchildren Robert Fay of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jane Fay of Iowa State college, Harley Stipp, Junior, and Fay Stipp of Des Moines; sisters Mrs. L. B. Swaggart and Mrs. Cora Klingaman of Denver, Colo., and a brother, Lincoln P. Slater of Lewistown, Mont.

The deceased was born Lillian Roxanna Slater, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Slater, at Hinckley, Ill, Feb. 22, 1860. When she was but a child the family moved to Keokuk county, Iowa, where they lived for a time, after which they moved to Marion, where she grew to young womanhood, received her education and taught in the schools of Linn county for a few years.

She was married to Arthur H. Fay October 1, 1879, and they established their home first at State Center, living there for 10 years, coming to Nevada in Dec., of 1889, and this had been their home since.

Always devoted to her home and family she had found time and activities in Central Presbyterian church of which she had been a member since locating in Nevada and she was a longtime an active member of the Chapter AM P.E.O., as well as belonging to other social clubs of the city.

She had kept up her church and social work until a few months ago when her declining health compelled her to retire from activities.

Mrs. Fay was a woman of many fine characteristics and much talent and will be missed by a wide circle of friends in the city, as well as by her family.
