Philip Allen

Philip Allen, 77, of RR 2, Nevada, died Sunday, Jan. 27, at Story County Hospital in Nevada.

Mr. Allen was born July 3, 1902 in Nevada to parents Frank and Jessie McKim Allen. He was educated at Nevada School and Iowa State University in Ames.

On Aug. 10, 1929, he married Mary McCall in Fort Dodge. Mr. Allen was a farmer and was a lifelong resident of the Nevada area.

He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada and the Masonic Lodge No. 99, Nevada.

Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Mary, of Nevada; two sons, David of RR 2, Nevada and Edward Ralston of Nebraska; one daughter, Jane McCoy of Fresno, Calif.; one brother, John Allen of Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Nelson of Nevada and Mrs. Homer "Mary" Vilmont of Ames; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

The funeral will be Tuesday, Jan. 29, at 1:30 p.m. at Nevada Central Presbyterian Church, Rev. Gehrald Riesen officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada. A memorial fund had been established.
