Jane E. Myers, 87, of Nevada, died Monday, Oct. 25, at Story County Medical Center in Nevada, Iowa. Graveside services were held today, Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 11:00 A.M., at Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor Scott Milsom officiating.

Jane Elizabeth Myers was born on July 15, 1917 in Story County, Iowa to Fredrick Donald and Nellie Jane (Gibbs) Swafford. She was a 1934 graduate of Nevada High School. Jane married Dale Dallas Myers on February 22, 1940 in Nevada, Iowa. Jane was a cook for Donnelley Marketing, retiring in 1979. Jane was a life long resident of Nevada. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada and of Nevada Senior Citizens Center. She was an active volunteer at Story County Medical Center. Jane enjoyed sewing, quilting and reading. Her favorite pastime was being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her two sons, Dallas Dale (Helen Beth) Myers of Midland, Michigan and Terry Lynn (Kelly) Myers of Nevada, Iowa; two sister in laws, Maxine Viers of Maxwell, Iowa and Berniece of Loma Linda, California; five grandchildren, Megan, Matt, Harper, Tyler and Kelsey Myers.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale on October 26, 1985, and her brother, Donald Swafford.
