Child Struck by Auto, Dies This Morning
Billy Breezley, 8 years old, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Breezley of 3005 Oakland avenue, died this morning at the college hospital of injuries sustained Sunday afternoon when he was struck by the car driven by Ralph Reitz of Nevada. The accident occurred near the Breezley home.
The child had his skull crushed borth thigh bones broken, and his right shoulder dislocated. He did not regain consciousness before his death at 7 o'clock this morning.
The boy was struck Sunday afternoon about 3 o'clock when he ran into the street in front of Reintz' car. Cars were parked on each side of the street. The child dashed into the street directly in front of Rietz' car and was struck before the latter could stop. A report of the Ames police showed today that Rietz' brakes were not in good condition.
