Lauretta Beryl Thompson
March 10, 1924 - July 21, 2013

Lauretta Beryl Eberhart Thompson, 89, of Ames, died Sunday, July 21, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Heartland Baptist Church with burial to follow at Nevada Municipal Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Lauretta married Tilford Thompson on July 26, 1952 in Des Moines. She worked in food service at Iowa State University and retired in 1991. Lauretta was a long time member of Heartland Baptist Church and enjoyed working with their children's ministry.

Lauretta is survived by her son, Dennis, of Des Moines; 4 granddaughters, Cyndi (Steve Bell) Lee of Madrid, Tami (Greg Gedenberg) Kuster of Des Moines, April (Doug) Jensen of Des Moines, and Heather (Rusty Griffin) Thompson of Des Moines; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; a brother, Jack Eberhart of Des Moines and Jack (Irene) Small of Boone, and their children, Heather and Corey Tesdah who Lauretta thought of as familyl. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Pamela and a grand daughter, Amy Thompson.
