ADDISON FUNERAL SERVICE TODAY

Masons to Conduct Service at Grave of Dean of Bar

Funeral service fro E. H. Addison, 74, pioneer resident of Nevada, and dean of the Story County Bar association, who died suddenly late Sunday afternoon*, will be held this afternoon at 2:30 in the Nevada Methodist church. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

Service at the church will be in charge of the Rev. George A. Lawton, pastor, while interment will be under the ritualistic ceremonies of the Masonic lodge, with which Mr. Addison long had been associated.

Grandson Arrived This A.M.
Definite arrangements for the funeral were made Tuesday afternoon upon receipt of a message from the grandson, Addison Carter, now enroute to Nevada from his home at El Centro, Calif. He was to arrive this morning at one o'clock.

Mr. and Mrs. Addison had visited in Minneapolis earlier last week, returning home Friday. Mr. Addison had contracted a severe cold, but feeling better Sunday had dinner with the family and enjoyed an automobile drive earlier in the afternoon. About 4 p.m. the became ill and was taken to the Iowa sanitarium, but sank rapidly and died at 6:30 p.m.

Only Son With Him
The only son, James, had but recently returned to his home in Des Moines from Miami, Fla., where he had left his family for the winter, and had come to Nevada for the week-end. he was with this father when he died.

Mr. Addison was a ntive of Illinois born 74 years ago on New Year's day. He came to Iowa as a boy and lived in Nevada. He graduated from Nevada schools and operated a farm in north Polk county. Later he read law and was admitted to the bar. He first located at Maxwell, but moved to Nevada in 1908.

Active In Politics
He was active in political affairs and frequently had represented the Republican party in its conventions. He had refused to hold office himself. He was active in Masonic circles and in Knights of Pythias. He was a charter member of the Maxwell Pythian lodge.

He leaves besides his wife, to whom he had been married for 50 years, his son James, and grandsons James, and grandsons James and Addison Carter. His two daughters, Mrs. Anna Addison Carter of El Centro, Calif., and Mrs. Hazel Addison Vinzel died early this year, within a few weeks of each other. James Carter has been living with his grandparents since the death of his mother.
