Last Rites for Mrs. E. H. Addison Wednesday P.M.

Funeral services for Mrs. E. H. Addison, 85, long time resident of Story County, who passed away at her home in Des Moines on Sunday, May 26, were held from the Nevada Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 p. m. with the Rev. O. E. Cooley, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Gordon Smith, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church in Des Moines.

Mrs. Norman C. Dobson was at the organ. Two solos "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me" were sung by Mrs. Theron Case.

The large number of beautiful flowers which banked the bier and the front of the church were cared for by Mrs. E. C. Wendel, Mrs. Claude L. Moran, Mrs. Harold Tipton and Mrs. Glen R. Newton.

The casket bearers were Milo Berka, Frank Lounsberry, Gilbert Henry, Harold Tipton, Carl Irish, and Glen R. Newton.

The following obituary was read by Rev. Cooley who had paid a high tribute to the fine christian life of the deceased.

"Mary Jane Addison, daughter of George W. and Ann Eliza Sherwood was born at Lanark, Ill., Feb. 12, 1861. She was united in marriage at Lolark, Ill., to Edwin Henry Addison on Feb. 12, 1880. To this union three children were born, Anna Eliza Carter, Hazel Marie Vinsel, and James C. Addison now of Des Moines. The two daughters and Mr. Addison--the husband all died in the year 1933 within a space of six months.

Mrs. Addison is survived by her son James C. Addison of Des Moines, five grand children, and two great grand children. Besides other relatives and many close acquaintances. Mrs. Addison departed this life in Des Moines, Iowa on May 26, 1946 at her home, 3738 Crocker St.

After her marriage Mrs. Addison moved to a farm in Washington Township, Polk County. In 1888 she and her husband moved to Maxwell where they lived until 1902. At that time they came to Nevada. In 1944 Mrs. Addison went to Des Moines which has been her home since that time."

Mrs. Addison was a member of the Nevada Methodist church of the Nevada Chapter No. 296, Order of the Eastern Star, and of the Nevada Thimble club. She was a past matron of the Maxwell O. E. S.

Among the relatives here for the last rites were Mr. and Mrs. James C. Addison of Des Moines, Captain James Carter of Stockton, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Laughran, Mr. and Mrs. George Corcoran and Mrs. Anna Corcoran of Des Moines, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brown of Sioux City. Others here were Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Vinsel and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brownlie of Des Moines, Miss Esther Bowen of Ames and a number of others from Maxwell, Ames and elsewhere in the county.
