Evelyn I. Christiansen
January 2, 1924 - May 6, 2013

Evelyn I. (Dobbe) Christiansen was born on January 2, 1924 to Milton and May (Thompson) Dobbe in rural Polk County, Iowa. She attended Huxley High School where she graduated salutatorian. She married John R. (Bob) Christiansen on March 31, 1945 at the Palestine Lutheran Church parsonage.

Evelyn worked at the Huxley High School as a secretary until 1962, when she and Bob adopted two children, at which time she became a full-time housewife. She helped Bob with his book work at Larson Lumber and Grain until they both retired in 1985. She was a life time member of Palestine Lutheran Church where she drew her strength and comfort.

Evelyn went to be with her Savior on May 6, 2013 at 89 years of age.

She is survived by her children, Richard LeRoy (Cathy) Christiansen of Radcliffe, Iowa and Dorothy Louise (Kevin) Bartleson of Cambridge, Iowa; two brothers, Kenneth (Ruth) Dobbe of Springfield, Illinois and LeRoy (Ruthie) Dobbe of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sixteen nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, John R. Christiansen; her parents, Milton and May; her brother, Joel Dobbe; and her sister, Lois (Dobbe) Jacobson.
