Michael D. McCormick
August 31, 1958 - April 6, 2013

Michael Dale McCormick was born August 31, 1958 to Floyd and Phyllis (Walters) McCormick in Boone, Iowa. He grew up in Boone and Madrid and then served three years, from 1980 to 1983, in the National Guard. Michael was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, New York Yankees, Seattle Seahawks, and enjoyed playing fantasy football, fishing and talking politics with his mother. He especially enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.

Michael passed away April 6, 2013 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at 54 years of age.

Michael is survived by his girlfriend, Shelly Sauter of Ames; three sons, Travis (Lisa) McCormick, Jerrod McCormick and Derrick McCormick, all of Nevada; his mother, Phyllis McCormick of Des Moines; two sisters, Lisa McCormick and Tami McCormick, also of Des Moines; two grandchildren, Trenten and Jersey-Jo McCormick of Nevada; his nephew, Austin Rankin; and his great-niece, Kaylee Rankin.

Michael was preceded in death by his father.
