Pauline Soderholm
March 12, 1928 - April 1, 2013

Pauline married Paul D. Reynolds on October 10, 1948 in Traer, IA. They had two sons, Paul David Reynolds and Payce Dean Reynolds. The family lived in Newton, IA, Minneapolis, MN, Largo, FL. Cedar Rapids, IA, Montezuma, IA and Jewell, IA. Paul died September 3, 1981. Pauline married Leo H. Soderholm August 3, 1985 and they made their home in Ames. Pauline was employed at various positions over the years including working as a school secretary and as a draftsman.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great -grandmother. She was known for her fine collection of Victorian toothpick holders and served as president of the National Toothpick Holders Collectors Society in 1998 and 1999. She was a member of the Neta Snook chapter of Questers and enjoyed the study of antiques and restoration with a particular interest in glass. She was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Ames and active in the BLCW, was a past co¬-chairman of the Scandinavian Coffee and served on various committees. Along with her husband, she had a special interest in the church Endowment Fund. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Retirees and was a correspondent for the WWII 411th Gun Battalion Association. Other activities included reading, working in her flower gardens, playing bridge and traveling.

Pauline died April 1, 2013 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames at 85 years of age.

Pauline is survived by her husband Leo Soderholm of Ames; sons Paul (Phyllis) Reynolds, Weston, FL, and Payce (Jody) Reynolds, Pella, IA; three step-children, Paul (Jeri) Soderholm, Durham, NH, Kathy (Tim) Johnson. Minneapolis, MN, and Anne Kristen (Mark) Sloniger, Nevada, IA; six grandchildren, Duke (Mindy) Reynolds, Jerry Paul (Kris) Reynolds, Jessie (Hanson) Turnbull, Jourdon Levy Reynolds, Journey Reynolds and Kimberly Reynolds; seven step-grandchildren, Becky (Ryan Birkenholz) Soderholm, Patricia Soderholm, Teresa Soderholm, Stacy (Brian) Simmons, Brandon Johnson, Garrett Johnson and Sarah (Matt) Sorenson; and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Kathy Gifford; four sisters-in-law, LaVonne (Wendell) Draper, Barbara (George) Draper, Charlene (Ralph Draper) Hunter and Caroline (Wayne) Draper, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Paul Reynolds; six brothers, Elmer, Wendell, Norman, George, Ralph and Wayne; two sisters, Stella Jean Day and Evelyn Matlock; and one sister-in-law, Margaret (Elmer) Draper.

Memorials may be given to the Bethesda Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, Israel Family Hospice House, or a charity of' your choice.
