Orlin S. Olson

Orlin Olson, 90, of Story City died from complications of pneumonia on Monday, Nov. 22, 1999 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City. Funeral services were held on Friday, Nov. 26, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Don Preston officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Orlin S. Olson was born May 7, 1909 to Martin and Lizzie (Charlson) Olson in Story City.* He married Marjorie Topp on August 6, 1935. He lived in Hubbard; Rockford, Iowa; and Phoenix, Arizona before returning to Story City in 1959. He owned and operated retail stores until 1972 when he became manager of the Riverbend Golf Course in Story city, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Jacqueline Mears and husband Gary of Clearwater, Florida; one sister, Rozella DuBois of Story City; three grandchildren, Gregory Mears, Kimberly Allen, and Tracie Wells, and ten great-grandchiidren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on February 25, 1999; an infant son, Orlin Gail Olson; and two brothers, Floyd and Kenneth Olson.
