LARRY COFFMAN

Funeral services for Larry William Coffman, were held Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. from Stevens Memorial Chapel with the Rev. James Asp of the Ascension Lutheran Church officiating. The organist played, "Beautiful Savior." Burial was in Story City Municipal Cemetery. Pall bearers were his grandsons: David Thompson, Harold Thompson, Dennis Coffman, Joe Mock, Jim Shearer and Ronald Wierson.

Mr. Coffman was born April 20, 1902 in Vine Grove, Ky., the son of Drury and Janette Coffman. He died Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. at Mary Greeley Hospital at the age of 71. He married Grace Denekas in Webster City on Oct. 7, 1921. They farmed for many years in the Story City and Ames areas. He was employed at the Atomic Energy Commission from 1951-1968. Mr. Coffman was a member of the Ascension Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Grace; a son, Leonard, Story City; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Thompson, Story City; and Mrs. Erma Armburg, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
