Awanda Johnson, 81, of Urbandale, formerly of Waterloo and Story City, died Thursday, Dec 24, of a heart ailment at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1911 in Hamilton County, daughter of Nels P. Larson and Bertha Hill. She married Dr. Raymond Johnson on Sept 27, 1934 in Story City. He died Nov. 17, 1981.

Mrs. Johnson was an antiques dealer in Story City, retiring in 1982. She also had lived in Rogers, Ark. and Waterloo before moving to Urbandale.

Survivors include a daughter, Karma Cahill of Des Moines, formerly of Cedar Falls; a son Karl; a granddaughter; and a sister Virgie Jensen of Story City.

Services were 1 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church, Story City, with burial in Story City Cemetery. Hamilton's Funeral Home, Des Moines was in charge of arrangements.
