MRS. SOLVEIG HEGLAND
Funeral services for Mrs. Solveig Hegland, 49, Story City, were March 2 from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist officiating. A service was held earlier at Bethany Manor, Story City with the Rev. Pernie Pederson officiating. Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hegland died Fev. 28 at Story City Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born near Outlook, Mont., she received her early education in rural schools, graduating from Outlook High School in 1938.
In September 1939, she married Sven Hegland. The couple lived on a farm south of Ellsworth until 1962. They were member of Salem Lutheran Church at Radcliffe.
In 1962 they moved to their home in Story City became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was active in A.L.C.W. and Guild and became superintendent of its Sunday school.
After her husband died, she began work at Story City Bethany Manor where she later became a matron.
She is survived by her father, Morten Norager, Story City; a brother, Thorval Norager, Radcliffe; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Fry of Billings, Mont., Mrs. Ruby Hawks of Carmichael, Calif.; Mrs. Doris Stoner of Plentywood, Mont.; and Mrs. Pearl Bolstad of Story City; 16 nieces and nephews and two great nieces.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and her mother.
Pallbearers were Ross Auestad and Luverne Mortvedt of Ellsworth, Lowell Bolstad and Lynn Engstrom of Story City, Merlyn J. Hegland of Jewell, and Jean Lamoreaux of Ames.
