Charlotte Hortense Hansell

Charlotte Hortense Hansell, 90, of West Friendship Haven, Fort Dodge, died Thursday, Aug. 9 in Fort Dodge.

Born Oct. 10, 1888 in Nevada to William Hansell and Margaret B. Ringheim, she attended Ottumwa High School, Iowa State University in Ames adn Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio.

She was connected with the Ringheim and Ringheim Dry Goods and Ready to Wear Store unti the fall of 1943 when she retired. She was also a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and Chapter G of P. E. O. Society in Ottumwa.

Survivors include two nieces, Mrs. Margaretta Horner of St. Joseph, Mo., and Michelle Hansell Tennison of Mt. Dora, Fla., and one nephew, William Whitfield Hansell II of Leesburg, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr. W. Whitfield Hansell.

Services are tentatively set for Tuesday, Aug. 14 at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, with Pastor Walter E. Lack officiating. Burial will follow in Nevada Cemetery. Anyone desiring confirmation of funeral time and place should contact Ryan Funeral Home.
