FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. B. JOHNSON

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 22, 1969 in the morning at 10 a.m. at Bethany Manor with Chaplain M.C. Hagedorn officiating and 2:00 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Rev. C.A. Gisselquist, officiating. Burial wa at the Roland Cemetery. The soloist was Mrs. Robert Hermanson who sang, "Thou Didst Leave Thy Throne" and "My Jesus I Love Thee" accompanied by Mrs. Harold Olon.

Pallbearers were Harold Holm, Jesse Torgerson, Russell Sime, Alvern Jensen, George Larson and Andrew Vignes. Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home was in charge.

Mrs. John B. Johnson was born Emma G. Larson, daughter of Gunder and Inger Larson Vik on May 18, 1886 in Hardin County, Iowa. She passed away on December 10, 1969 at the Story City Memorial Hospital at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Emma taught public school for several years and parochial school in the churches of Central Iowa before moving to Minneapolis where she worked with the Zion Society for Israel, a Jewish Mission of the Lutheran Church.

On November 30, 1940 she was united in marriage to John B. Johnson and they made their home in Story City until his death in 1964.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her mother, father, three brothers, three sisters and one step son.

She is survived by two step-daughters and two step-sons together with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
