Story City Woman, Mrs. L. T. Scott Dies December 11
Mrs. Inger Tobie Scott, the daughter of Lars and Bertha Mathre was born March 20, 1873, on a farm east of Story City.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland. Later she joined the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City where she was a member until the time of her dath. She was a resident of Story City most of her life. Mrs. Scott, 89 years, died about 8:45 a.m., December 11 at the Story City Sunset Home shere he had been a resident for fourteen years.
She is survived by one brother, Lewis Mathre and four sisters; Mrs. Minnie Knutson and Mrs. Julia Amlund, both of Story City, Mrs. Elizabeth Hooper, Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Bertha Tyler, Burbank, Calif. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 13 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Sunset Home with Pastor Harold T. Masted, officiating. His text was from Paul's Letter to the Romans, Chapter 5, verses 1 and 2. Pastor Pernie Pederson, superintendent of the Sunset Home spoke a few words. Miss Gudrid Njaa presided at the piano and the congregation sang, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," and "My Faith Looks Up in Thee."
Pallbearers were Bertram Amlund, Leslie Mathre, John Valen, and Edwin T. Hauge. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
