Burt L. Opstvedt, 43, formerly of Story City, died Monday in Atlantic City, N.J., after an accidental fire in his apartment.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, from St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Rhuben O. Aga officiating. Burial will be in the Roland Cemetery.
Mr. Opstvedt was born July 15, 1928 in Story County and he graduated from Story City High School. He was employed at Younkers and the Utica store, both in Des Moines. He then moved to Atlantic City, where he worked for the Charles of Atlantic clothing store.
Survivors include one brother, Arthur Holland of Roland, two sisters, Mrs. La Vern Kreutner of Neosho, Mo. and Mrs. Delbert Quam of Story City, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The body will lie in state at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home, Story City.
