Lars Monson (Hefte} Story City, Iowa, died last June 21. He was born on the Hefte farm, Voss, February 11, 1835. On June 19, 1863 he entered matrimony with Martha Overland. He immigrated with his family, — wife, two children and mother-in-law, to America and settled 4½ miles south of Story City, Iowa where they have lived since. His wife died at age 82 years 3 years ago. They leave nine children: Mons, Albert, Lars and Ole in Story City; Anna in Daws City, Iowa; Martha (Mrs. Jondal); Bryngel, Martin and Gurina in Story City. A daughter, Gurina, died at a young age. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren. His brother Bryngel Hefte, 94 years and a sister live at Voss. A sister was married to Sylfest S. Fletre and lived in Iowa. He was buried at Fair View Cemetery on June 25. Pastor Heidmark officiated. Six sons were the pallbearers. A large gathering attended.
