THOMAS E. HOLT
Thomas E. Holt, son of the later Osmund and Elizabeth Holt, was born in Clinton, Iowa on May 20, 1909. He passed away January 25, 1969.
As a child, he moved with his parents to Boone, Iowa where he graduated from the Boone High School and attended Junior College. Following his schooling, he entered service with the Chicago and Northwestern Railway and was employed in the Accounting Department of their headquarters offices in Chicago, Illinois at the time of his death.
Durting World War II, he served four years with the U.S. Army in the European theatre.
On September 30, 1951, Mr. Holt was united in marriage to Helen Dunnerman in Boone, where they resided until moving to Chicago.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Lodge, A.F. & A.M., Masonic Low Twelve Club, American Legion Post #56, all of Boone; the Consistory of Clinton, Iowa, the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks and the Medinah Shrine in Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mrs. Thelma Handschin, and is survived by his widow and two sisters, Mrs. Marval Stephenson of Altoona, Iowa and Miss Ora Holt of Chicago.
Funeral services were held January 29 at a funeral home in Boone, Iowa. Burial was at the Story City Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. Holt's mother was a sister of the late P. O. Peterson, Story City. Mr. Holt spent many summers in the Story City area in his youth.
