HOWARD S. ANDERSON
Funeral services for Howard S. Anderson, 73, Story City, were July 9 from the St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. M. C. Hagedorn officiating. Burieal was in the Story City Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson died July 6 in the Story City Memorial Hospital.
Howard S. Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John O. Anderson was born on a farm northeast of Randall on January 9, 1900, where he spent his early years and received his education. He was baptized and confirmed in the North St. Petri Lutheran Church. He was married Jan. 26, 1923 to Myrna Classon of Radcliffe. They spent the first four years of their married life on a farm near Skyberg, Minn. The remaining 46 years were spent near Story City. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last January.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife Myrna; two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Matsen of Newton, Mrs. Virginia Sopeland of Spencer; one son, Robert G. Anderson of Story City and by nine grandchildren. Other survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Amy Heggen of Des Moines, Mrs. Alma Solyst of Roland, Mrs. Jeanette Smith of Des Moines, Mrs. Betts Peterson of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Le Ora Grummer of Madison, Wis., and a twin brother Orville Anderson of Story City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Martha Langheim of New York City, New York.
Pallbearers were Steven Matsen, Bruce Matsen, David Sopeland, Russell Sopeland, Gordon Anderson and Richard Heggen.
