Henrietta Thorsheim

Henrietta C. Thorsheim passed away Saturday, October 26, 1996, in her home in Edina. She was born February 19, 1910 in rural Thor, Iowa, to John J. and Ingeborg (Sevde) Sandvig, the tenth of eleven children. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School, where she completed her Normal Training. She taught school for two years. On September 6, 1930, she married Iver Thorsheim. They lived and worked together on a farm near Radcliffe, Iowa.

She was an active member of Our Savioer's Lutheran Church in Radcliffe, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also led Bible Studies and contributed to the work of the women of the church. When they retired, the moved to Story City, IA. She became a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed worshipping, quilting and singing in the choir. In 1995 she moved to 7500 York Cooperative in Edina, to be closer to her family. She enjoyed her new friends and activities. Her church home was Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, where she continued to worship, study and serve.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her husband, Iver, and son, Rudolph (Rudy.) She is survived by her daughter, Diane Jacobson and husband, Philip; daughter, Ruth Bloch and husband, Robert; daughter-in-law, Jeanenne Thorsheim; and one sister, Caroline Hill. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
