Henry Oley Jacobson, son of Ole and Karl Jacobson was born on a farm near Rosendale on Oct 17, 1875 and passed away April 16, at the age of 78 years. Henry was baptised and confirmed in the Lutheran church and reared in a Christian home.
May 22, 1902 he was united in marriage to Bertha Boe and to this union eight children were born. Two of the children, Olena and Clarence, and his wife, preceded him in death.
Mr. Jacobson had been failing in health for the past year and one-half, but was not seriously ill until the day before he departed this life. He died at the Hamilton County hospital, Webster City.
For several years Mr. Jacobson had made his home with his son, Harry and family. During the last two weeks he had stayed with his daughter at the Lester Houkoos home.
He leaves to mourn his departure the following children: Mrs. Lester Haukoos, Stanhope; Mrs. Reuben Nibe, Mrs. Arnold Benson and Harry Jacobson, all of Story City; Mrs. Albert Myers, Boone, and Mrs. P. W. Brown of Des Moines. There are 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one brother, Carl, and two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Boe and Mrs. Bertena Frette of Story City and one half-sister, Mrs. Dave Beckley of Nevada.
